Living Love, Loving Life?

This project’s objective was to create a video using continuous montage with all video and audio sourced from the Internet Archive. For this video I wanted to create something that commented on love, the happily ever after. I chose clips that deliberately showed couples at their happiest and in love before a clop with a happy couple with one vanishing into thin air. The ending with the vanishing partner can be taken seriously and humorously. In a serious sense, it is about the abrupt end of love be it from death, divorce, or the passage of time, love is there but it can also disappear like it was never there at all. In a humorous sense, the abrupt end can be taken a joke, with the partner being whisked away by some magical force for rescue like a fairytale. This video can be interpreted in various ways on the topic of love, and that is how I designed it.
